surgery went well

I had my surgery last Thursday. Got to come home Saturday. Everything went well except for an allergic reaction to the antibiotics.  The only problem I've had since I've been home is pain. Lots of pain. Has anyone had burning see ring pain on the left side of their belly button after RNY. There is no incision there. My surgeon said it is most likely caused by a nerve. But boy does it hurt.  Other than that doing well.

Are you taking your pain meds?

I had pain on my left side and I just figured it was from the G drain being on my left side. I was only in pain for about 6 days then hardly had to take any pain meds.

Hi. Hopefully it wont  last longer than that for me. I don't know if I had A G drain. Where the pain is there is not hole or anything.

Didn't you have a tube/drain coming out of your side with a pouch that collected fluid? I did and before I went home they pulled it out, ouch!

No, surgeon said she removed before I went to recovery.

 Glad you are home but sorry you're in pain. Hopefully, it will subside in a few days! 

Each person is different when it comes to pain.  I had my RNY done on July 28th.  I had some pain mainly on my left side where the largest incision was.  But it past in a few days and didn't need to take the pain meds.  Things will get better and you will be doing great in no time.
