Burning in my pouch is my gallbladder-surgery tomorrow.

I was convinced I had an ulcer. After an ultrasound and a HIDA scan today, they found out that my gallbladder is only functioning @ 9%.  While I am not excited to go under again, I am excited that this pain will soon be over. I love my surgeon and his team, so here's to an uneventfully surgery.

I'm sorry you have to have surgery but it's good they figured it out and you should be feeling better soon.  My gall bladder surgery was really easy.  I had some pain that night and really felt perfectly normal by the next day.

Were you taking Urisodol?  Just curious because I am.  It's supposed to minimize the risk of gall stones and I'm wondering how well it's going to work.

When you say you had burning, was it in your pouch feeling like the burning of hunger?  After every meal, I get a burning feeling in my stomach/pouch and I am starting to think it may be gastric burning.......feels like hunger but it gets worst AFTER i eat and I am just over 3 weeks post op.

I hope your surgery went well and that it helps your problem. Can I ask - did you have an endoscopy to check for an ulcer? Gallbladders don't cause burning pain in the pouch.  The pain is totally different and in a different place - your pouch and gallbladder are in different locations.  If you havent' had an endoscopy, you may want to have one once you are recovered to make sure you dont' have an ulcer also.  I wish you luck.
