For those that have trouble eating re-heated leftovers?
I remember my surgeon saying to not bother with leftovers because it's very common for people to not tolerate them. I can't do them...I think they do dry out as they cool and the reheating process changes the texture and makes it harder for me to eat. I've even tried putting leftovers in foil and putting them in a veggie steamer to maintain the moisture but that didn't even work.

This happened to me twice in the past few days.. this post came with perfect timing, hehe
I had a conversation with my NUT, and she also warned me that microwaving it would make it dry, and harder (for some people) to keep down...
I had a turkey roast the other day, and it was fabulous fresh.. the next day, i tried it and i felt sick.. didnt come up, but i was lucky enough to catch it quick and i just stopped eating..
And then i had it happen two days ago with some nice meatloaf that my mother in law made.. Now i told her about this previous incident, so she put a tiny bit of cheese into the chop meat.. And man, It was delicious fre****he next day, i either Nooked it too long, or whatever. because it didnt sit in me for more than 15 minutes :(
when in doubt, throw some marinara sauce on it, lol, or ricotta, or whatever will moisten it a little bit, and make it more pouch friendly?

I cook and reheat all kinds of foods. If it's something that is dry the first day, reheating won't work. If it's with a saucy food, or with gravy, or pan sauce, it reheats well. So do home-made soups and casseroles that are somewhat juicy the first day.
I don't avoid all fats, bcause that's what makes food taste good, as well as seasonings.

I eat most left overs and swear by the method I use. Depending on the leftovers (homemade or restaurant) Meal or sandwich, will depend how I freeze them. If it's some sort of sandwich or something with chips (such as tacos), I separate the meat and vegetables from the bread. I make sure all the air is removed from the container or freezer bag I use for freezing and if I store any type of bread item, I add a paper towel to keep it from drying out.
When reheating, I use a small toaster over to get the toasty texture if that's what I want, or a defrost method if I nuke it. I have soups, sauces, pasta, toasted breads and even some 1/2 size pastries packed in my freezer and dated. It's wonderful to take a small portion out to heat and eat. If it's properly stored and reheated, it should have the same taste and texture as the first night you had it.
If I find I'm gathering too many leftovers, I share them with my husband. He eats everything.
But I honestly think the key is proper storage in the freezer, then reheating as though you're making it the first time.
Good Luck

I have intermittent issues with reheats as well. What the pouch will take one day, it may not take another. You know how it can be. I can eat some reheats and freezes in the microwave but I have a "protocol."
I add tiny bit of water to whatever dish I am eating and then depending on the dish will cover with with a moist paper towel. I will microwave it 1/2 way stir and then complete it. It seems to get more evenly cooked and still moist after the wave, which I think is my biggest issue with leftovers. Good luck!
