Question for former yo-yo dieters
Do you find that when you lost weight now, that your clothes did not fit as well as when the last time you were the same weight? I am thinking the last time I weighed what I weigh now, I was in a size smaller. (this was 3 and 1/2 years ago). these are the same clothes, so I can't say they are cut differently.
I wasn't really a yo-yo dieter, but I saved a lot of my more expensive (and very classically-styled) clothes when I was gaining weight, so when I lost weight, I had smaller sizes already in my closet. In my case, the clothes were from a lot longer than 3 years ago (more like 15 or 20!), but I found that my body is shaped differently than it was the last time I was this size. My waist is thicker (partly because of aging and partly because I have two small areas of residual fat right above my waist), my chest is larger (because of the excess skin), but my shoulders, arms, and hips are a bit smaller.
If you are still losing, it may be because of the pattern of how you are losing the weight... so the weight is distributed differently than when you were gaining it.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Yep. Same here. I still have clothes from when I was in my 20's and weighed the same exact weight. That was 20 years ago and I know I was in much better shape back then and my waist was 2 inches smaller (I'm a numbers freak and remember these things). I'm working on losing those 2 extra inches.

Are you talking about "sizes", which would be vanity sizing coming into play, or actually clothing you wore 12 years ago at the same weight that are too big now??

I am still quite a distance from being at goal. However, I've noticed that I can't wear clothes that are as fitted, particularly in the waist, due to the fact that I'm so squishy! I end up with looking like I have serious "muffin top" issues, even when my pants are too big in the waist! It's disappointing. I have two pair of size 14 pants that I would love to wear, but they make me look like I have flubber overhang when I sit down... it is NOT cute!
