But do you feel it helps you stay on track? How does it benefit you to do it?

That is me too. I am not doing the food tracking the way I should. I know that I really need to make that a regular part of my life. I think I sometimes rebel from things like that because I want to see myself as "normal". I know I am not. It is like a diabetic, not taking his blood sugar readings, because he just doesn't want to.
That is what I think. I would be willing to take on a food logging buddy. I would commit to logging and share what I have eaten that day. I think it would help me to be more honest.

I think for me it's mostly about being about to get away with stuff. If I don't log it, I can pretend I didn't eat it, you know? And I think it's always a problem if we can't be honest with ourselves about what we are eating.
I honestly don't think my eating is that bad. I'm not eating cookies or candy or chips or stuff like that. But it could be better and I need it to be a little better right now.

But seriously, it's the one thing I've always had a pratically physical reaction to not doing. As Steve says, it's like a rebellion and wanting to be normal. I have the tools, lots of pre-entered food so it isn't hard. I just feel it's like a punishment to do it. That I should be able to control myself and stay within my food plan without writing things down.
But for one week, I should be able to manage. Sort of afraid of what the numbers will tell me...

I want to track what time I eat, what I eat, how many calories and how much protein, plus how much liquids and my vitamins. But you can track yours however you want. I don't think there is a magic way to do it that's better than other ways. And I'm just doing mine on paper.
Anyone else want to join us in committing to track our food for one week? Then at the end of the day we can post it. You can post whatever you like, a list of everything you ate or just your totals for the day, and you can track it however it works best for you. The important thing is to do it.
