I did buy some "real" oatmeal, but have the packets for convenience sake.  That is my big downfall - convenience.  argh.

I know convenience is everything isn't it?  lol kind of like i buy some frozen dinners..for work because its convenient..lol but i only get the meat and vegie ones not the pasta or rice ones.

Oh and i was going to say, i make my oatmeal in milk ... like i take 1/4 cup water and then 3/4 cup milk and mix 1/2 cup oatmeal to it...then its pretty stiff so i add a couple tablespoons milk after i cook it just to make it so its not pasty..ha!  i love oatmeal.

I agree with the other posters - I am having pork for dinner tonight, cooked in the crockpot with leeks and carrots and I'll have a side of broccoli and/or kale.   A substantial dinner but with less starchy carbs than your choices.   There's nothing wrong with potatoes or corn on occasions, but later on (years +) you will need to watch your carbs more so it's a good lesson to learn early on!

Quite honestly, I don't see a problem with you eating 1000 calories per day - especially if you normally exercise.   People who DON'T exercise are probably ok on 6-800 calories per day.

Thanks...
I do workout so that is why I am not in a COMPLETE panic, just a minor one  :)

I workout Mon, Wed, Thurs on a fitness plan drawn up by my personal trainer, on Fridays with the personal trainer for 30 minutes, and on Saturday I walk 3 miles.

I think I need a remedial class on picking good foods!

My schedule has been complete chaos (mom in hospital, nursing home ,and now bedridden at home, etc) so I have been falling into the convenience trap. Hopefully things will slow down some for me in coming days (home healthcare and a hospital bed and lift are supposed to start coming for my mom).

I generally steam broccoli and cauliflower mixes - today is actually the first day I had corn LOL. I do have potatoes, generally once a week. I need time (HAHAHA) to sit down and just "Study" the sample menus from my NUT.

Thanks for all of your input
