FOOD and strictures
I wanted to know at what point do I get worried...a lot of people have been telling me that at this point I should be able to try just about anything. I watch my friend eat and she doesn't seem to have any issues what so ever. She is a few months ahead of me but it worries me that there are days I still can't hold anything down. I try changing things up constantly. Sometimes even pureed food won't go down and sometimes solid chicken will go down fine. Today for example, not even my protein shake would go down. Am I supposed to feel pain when I am eating almost like a "stuck" feeling. I am a revision from lap-band to RNY so I know all to well about that stuck feeling. I am almost 2 months out. I am not complaining really because I see that because my friend can eat whatever she wants, she does and at only 7 months out she is no longer losing and hasn't lost for over 2 months. I have actually caught up to her in weight. I just don't know how to describe it to my Dr at this point. I have tried everything. Eating slow, taking small bites, I absolutely do not drink while I eat, and I measure out my food. Is this how it is supposed to be this early out or am I supposed to be able to tolerate a little more food? I can't imagine that eating 3 small eraser sized pieces of fish or chicken is supposed to make me feel full to the point where I have foamies and throw up. I don't see this as being full but more so being "stuck". Any help so I can better understand what is going on would be greatly appreciated.
You probably need to be scoped to see about a stricture. Protein shakes should not be a problem at this point.

I am just over a week out and having trouble with full liquids - haven't even gotten to soft foods. Had my first check up today and told them that I had been doing protein drinks and water only because they go down. They said to stay on full liquids until at least Monday. Came home and tried some strained cream of mushroom soup and it came back up after a couple of bites. Been trying G2 throughout the evening and not having much luck either. Think they will get a call again in the morning. We were hoping to hold off until next week to scope, but will see how the night goes and how I feel in the morning.
I am also a revsion from band to RNY. My surgeon said today that he expects to have to scope me anywhere from 1-3 times. The more revisions he is doing, the more that he is seeing this.
Good luck.

What did your Doctor telyou to do with the ulcer. I had an edoscopy done little over three weeks ago after complaining for a couple months and the doc said that I had an ulcer and left it at that now during the morning and eve it hurts when I drink. They gave me sucralfate but Im done with that and still can't eat anything yet alone liquids in the am or pm.
im right at 3 mo out and i just now can eat about 1/2 cup of food.some just are different . so she may not be losing weight because SHE IS takin in to many calories, u dont want that . try drinking warm teas and take papaya enzymes to get past the choke feeling. make sure u chew very well and take ur time. stop long enough between each bite to see if ur to full. im a speed eater and i always have been. ive tried slowing down. it does make me feel betetr . but at first i was afraid to even take vitamins. they kept getting stuck .
I had surgery 3 days after you and I'm able to eat pretty much anything, although I'm still not allowed to have beef . The only thing that's made me throw up so far is turkey sausage. I think I didn't chew it enough.
I can easily eat half of a chicken breast, some potato, and green beans without a problem (cut into small, small pieces). My sister was able to eat similarly when she was at our stage. I think you should check with your surgeon.
