To Renee2be^^^^^^^^^^^ I really like what you just said, I don't think that this surgery should make us feel like we are in prison, but I also don't think we should be eating and drinking like we used to on our pre op days. I think we should not deprive ourself but taste a little of everything in moderation. Just don't over do anything nibble here and there drink a little here and there! Portion and control, that is what our pouch is design to help us with!

i am only 6 weeks out.  I thought it would be worse, actually.  I have been to two Christmas parties and had probably a better time than ever before.  I really concentrated on people and talking, rather than eating.

My party last night was in the neighborhood.  Liquor flows freely there.  I had my MIO water flavor.  Added it to my water in my pretty glass.  People kept asking me what i was drinking bc it looked so good.  Like a pretty purple ****tail.

I had a nibble of parmagiano reggiano at the appetizer table and stayed then stayed  in the other room rather than hover over the food table.   Dinner i had a piece of chicken marsala.  Brocolli from the cavetelli and brocolli.  didn't miss the breads, pastas and desserts even.   I did have a cup of coffee.

I just kept feeling my pants loose around my waist and smiling...

I am more worried about going to work tomorrow.  Bringing my shakes and blender with me.  Staying in my office and away from all the crap they always have out.  Have to make a point to get to the athletic center for 1/2 hour every day while at work.  Not falling into that trap.

You are very inspirational with your loss and all of your advice.  You will get thru this and i bet come out even stronger

This is my first Christmas Post op. So far it hasn't been too bad. Last week we had a staff party and had Chinese. I hadn't had any Chinese since surgery so I tried to eat meat and broccoli. Something didn't like me, but it was a "pay the next day" kind of thing.
This week we will have a cookie exchange and our main Christmas party (prime rib,e tc). I will make cookies - the more simple the better since I hate to cook - and I have submitted my name to partake in the food. I'll bring tupperware to take home what I can't eat.
On this past Friday our VP had a meet and greet and had gifts for all of the supervisors. I didn't make it so a friend picked up my gift --- a great big Ghirardelli chocolate gift basket! Chocolate has always been my biggest weakness. At first I really wanted to try just some of the candy.... but I decided I will break up the basket and use it to help fill the gift boxes for my team and save some of my own $$ !

I don't drink, but I never have, so no input there

Ghirardelli is my down fall in life! I made the mistake of telling my students that I love the stuff and guess what most of them brought me for my teacher xmas gift!  Man those kids really listened cause I told them I loved the choc covered cherries and blue berries and the little squares with caramel, and that's what I got.

I gave most of it away, a ate a piece or two cause I just had to.  But if I didn't give it away it would have been one of those things where I would be going and picking every few hours.  Better gone to others who can enjoy them with less side effects them me.

Stay strong.  It's easier with the surgery, but it's still a bit hard.
