Protein Question

I know I haven't been getting in enough protein because I don't like the shakes.  My weight loss has slowed down, could it be because I am not getting enough protein?  I exercise everyday.  I need some advice on this because I feel so disheartened that I am not losing more quickly.  I am down about 24 lbs since my preop diet that I started on 10/24.  Is this normal?

You may try a couple non-shake type protein options. I use the Synthrax, Nectar Twisted Cherry drink which is more like kool-aid than a shake. I like it better than the "shake" consistency. Even when I do use the shake mixes, I double the liquid (usually milk) so it's more a drink and less a shake consistency.

It could be, yeah, but honestly slow weight loss is the least of your worries if you don't get your protein in.  I'd be a  lot more worried about muscle loss and heart damage.

You really need the protein, especially as a new post op.  So get used to the protein shakes now before your surgery.  Try different whey isolate proteins. Or find an unflavored whey isolate protein you can use to make your own shakes or add to soft foods or liquids you drink. DAVE
