This thing is a pain in the ass!  For those of you who dont know what it is, its a tube stitched to your insides while they have you open for surgery that runs to a ball of Novicain type medicine that helps with pain. I have to carry this ball around in a small bag with a strap. I wear it over my head and across my body except for when Im going to sleep. Last night I got so tangled up in it I had to get up [so not easy at this point] to untangle myself. My nurse is removing it Thursday. I cant wait!

Ohh, I LOVED that thing!! As soon as they took it out, I wanted it back! Mine was taken out the day after surgery before I went home.

I had one too and let me tell you...becareful what you wish for!  I had mine for a week post opt and when I removed it I had a spike in pain for the next day.  I'm talking doubled my dose of lortab (which I was almost off of) for about 12-24 hours.

When I slept, I just placed it in the bed next to me or hung it on the headboard.  During the day, I wore it like a cross body bag....I even put my CC and cash in it when I went to Target...lol.

I agree,  it managed my pain beautifully.  So that it doesn't alarm anyone else (pre-op) it really isn't a problem.

Wow you got to come home with pain meds attached? LOL. I just had a few tramadal to take if I needed it. I did not need any for my stomach pain, but did take a few for my back pain.

it is a pain, but you will miss it when its gone, you won't realize how much it helped with the pain until they take it out!

welcome to the loser's bench!

The first thing I did when I got home was take that thing out because like you, it was driving me INSANE.   Big mistake, it freaking hurt like hell once it was out!!!   Had no idea just how well it was working until it was out.    If they'll let you keep it, do it...
