A bathroom scale, that is. I wanted to avoid getting in the habit of weighing every day and therefore making it more likely for myself to start obsessing over that wretched number! And since there was no (affordable) bathroom scale that would accurately record my weight on the store shelves when I started my journey, it wasn't such a big deal. I have been consistently going to my PCP or surgeon's office to weigh in weekly, and I've been okay with that til now.

Now I'm on winter break and driving all the way across town to weigh myself is much less convenient (I was going on school days while I was already in that part of town).

Anyway, long story short, I bought one and immediately stepped on it to set it up once I got home with it... and GREAT NEWS! I now weigh less than 300lbs!!!! 295, baby! Woooo Hooooo!

That's a good first number to get!
I think a scale is a great thing. I get on every week. It helps me stay accountable. On the way down it's fun to see the number get smaller. Now it's fun to see the numbers stay the same. I've never had that experience with a scale.
Don't get all stressed about the numbers or weigh too often. That can drive you nuts!

I'm one of those who weight too often. I do it daily. Every time I go to the bathroom.

I don't obsess over the numbers tho. If I do gain a few pounds I know I can catch it in time and reverse it.

I bought my scale before I had my surgery. It couldn't even weigh me back then. I was four fifty and it only goes up to three fifty. So the first time I stepped on it and it said I was under three hundred I jumped for joy!!!!

Met my first goal, met my second goal, met my surgeons goal. Now I have a new goal!
