I'm a bad girl
Lisa, I don't think calling yourself a bad girl is helpful or accurate. So you didn't do your best over the holidays. OK. Does that really make you bad? Does calling yourself bad really make you want to try harder? Or is that the kind of thinking and self talk that you used to do before you had surgery? Because that didn't work, right?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Well, I don't think I was bad, like before surgery bad. I just broke all the rules, like not drinking while you eat, grazing, protein first, low carb, no sweets.....I broke them all. That is bad. I have to acknowledge that fact. It's ok though cause I had fun, and next year I will probably do the same thing, but I know that my new bad is NOTHING compared to the old bad.
Being here is the best place to be. I've found when I am not on this forum, it is easier to "ignore" improper choices. When I come here and read a post by someone who is experiencing regain or is concerned they will, it jerks the slack out of me....really quickly. I remember last year when I had slacked off on walking, etc., I logged on one day and read a post where someone had experienced significant regain. After reading the thread I jumped up and went into my garage where my treadmill is and got really busy. Glad you are back.
Goodness girl, I am so glad to hear all that you are saying because it inspires me to follow the same advice. I am right there with you! I can't believe that I disregarded all the rules just becuase it was the holidays but now I am having those same thoughts! It is time to buckle down and pay closer attention to our new lifestyle (and hopefully encourage others to join in also).
