Well here is an awesome way to reach it!  This is a no time event meaning it is all about having fun!  I am doing the Atlants one with My whole family, if you live in or near one of the cities holding an event I say go for it!

not close to any....
If I were able to run the whole thing it would be worth a trip to Atlanta, but January 14 is only my first run / walk 5k (I have walked 3)

Most average size communities have them - 5Ks.  Look into  your local running club online.

I know that I don't live a major metropolitan area and there's still tons going on here or in the
next community over.

I think a 5 K is an awesome goal. I really try to encourage people to do them in my support group. It's great to see people excited and so proud of their accomplishments. As last one picked in gym class, doing the half marathons give me an enormous sense of self satisfaction.

We had a lady just complete her first 5K from our support group. She's two months out of surgery. I was so proud of her. She came in dead last but did awesome! We gave her a little trophy to celebrate :)

Walking or running a 5K, you're doing laps over people sitting on the couch - even if you
come in dead last :)

Dawn I think it is the format of this 5K that makes it attractive and easier for people to step up and do as their first.

The fact that many 5Ks are timed has people put pressure on themselves that they need to run the whole thing which we all know is not the case.

I'm doing the one in Vegas next month. This looks so fun :) I'm excited too that it isn't timed as my friend that is doing it with me, its her first one and i will be able to stay back with her to help her and not worry about beating my PG.

Wow, thanks.  The Twin Cities one is on my surgiversary date.  I'm seriously considering it, although not that close to Minnesota.
