Tired of soft food stage!!!!!
I have only been on the soft food stage for one week and have another week to go...but I'm so tired of the choices (soups still, mashed potato, hard boiled egg, cottage cheese, yogurt, cream of wheat, refrained beans, bananas, peanut butter). I only like about half the items so I'm eating mashed potatoes, tomato/chicken broth soups, peanut butter, cream of wheat, and refried beans. Are there any other soft foods we can eat?
I dumped on 1 tiny bite of banana, so Im scared to try that again. I guess this is just kind of a vent post more anything! Lol!!

Can you eat tuna, or cooked tuna with low fat mayo? That's on my soft foods list. Also could you eat a beef roast cooked in the crocked pot? Also pre op I have made boneless chicken breast cooked in the crock pot with taco seasoning and salsa...yum! I would think that's pretty soft and moist. I am 4 days post op, so from my perspective...I can't WAIT for soft food! :) Keep your head up!
vanilla dannon oikos yogurt was my friend. a dab of spaghetti sauce with ricotta cheese and a little mozzarella in the microwave was good too!

Try layering ricotta, spaghetti sauce and mozarella and heating it up...lasagna without the pasta! Can you add shredded cheese, taco sauce and fat free sour cream to your refried beans? How about yogurts? Greek yogurt has tons of protein but needs to be flavored. Sugar free cheesecake pudding mix added to Greek yogurt tastes like the center of a cheesecake. I would probably try adding peanut butter to cream of wheat and then add a few drops of maple flavored extract (I love pb and maple together).
