Its been a long road...
on December 31, 2011 1:39 pm
Its been 7 months since i have been on here but i had Lap gastric bypass on december 13, 2011. I must say its been a long road and an emotional roller coaster since surgery. I am almost 3 weeks out and i am 25lbs lighter. i have had an up and down emotional ride since surgery and i will be the first to say it is a must to have a strong support system.

Today...My Journey Begins
on May 23, 2011 8:03 pm
Today I went to my primary doctor to get the rest of my paperwork together to be submitted to the insurance company. My appt was at 11 & my usually prompt physician was running VERY late. How weird was that??? As i sat in the waiting room for what seemed like forever(it was i didn't get in a room until 12). I started reflecting over my life....30 whole years(lol). 25 of those years i have been overweight even when i was a smaller size, i was big for my age. Funny thing is i never knew i was the FAT girl. I had awesome friends that never ridiculed or treated me differently. I had boyfriends & was part of the popular crowd. It wasn't until 5 years ago it really dawned on me that i was FAT. I went to a go-kart park with my ex & the seat belt wouldn't fit me. I was embarrassed, it was like a scene from a movie i jumped up & ran to the car in tears. My ex comforted me & told me the guy didn't know what he was doing. I knew the truth. The manager was nice enough to refund my money((lol)). I can laugh today, but back then it was devastating.

Today at 30 y/o, 5'5, I weigh 324 pounds. I have asthma, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, joint pain, & get winded walking short distances. My quality of life is deteriorating. I have beautiful daughters that need me & my journey on this earth is just beginning.

Until next time..."Its not how you start, its how you finish"
