Has anyone NOT waited 18 months for plastics??
You might not be real thrilled with how you look naked even after plastic surgery. The scarring can be significant and if you had a LOT of extra skin and still have some small pockets of fat that will not leave (I have one at my waist and on my thigh just on my left side!), or have other issues, your body will NOT look like the body of someone who never had a weight problem and then had PS.
Sme people are fortunate and look very good after PS, but many would not dare show their middles in public.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I had my panni done at not quite 1 year post-op. I lost weight after, about 10lbs, but it was immediately after due to issues with the pain meds. I think it would have happened no matter how long I waited. Yes, things aren't quite as tight as they might be, but such a huge improvement, that it doesn't bother me.
Insurance covered it due to medical issues, but honestly, it was more for my mental health. I would love to have more done - thighs & buttocks - someday I will.... I had too many children (4) & spend too much on them.
The plastic surgeon didn't have any concerns about doing it early. If you're interested, I posted pics on my profile about 1 week after my panniculectomy. Still lots of swelling back then, now, I really am very pleased.
