Need protein powder recommendations-- trying to help someone new

I'm still in MA, but not local to you anymore. I'm up near Cambridge now. . .and my friend is living in North Carolina.

Oh, alright.  I hope he decides to use the forums.
Yeah, me too. He's a bright guy and works in the medical field. He's gonna do fine but who can't use the insights of others?

How about suggesting that he go to www.vitalady.com and order a bunch of samples.  She carries a wide variety of different brands and flavors.

Ohhhh, another good suggestion.

See? When you stop using your brain (me. . .like I said, I only buy the EAS chocolate for myself) you forget all the good stuff for other people. Thanks!

Yeah, at 4.5 years out I only do various Unjury flavors in my SF hot chocolate once a day (or occasionally a nectar flavor in the summer when it is too hot for hot chocolate), so I am not current on all the various protein powders that are out there either...

I am sure he appreciates your help.

Yeah, you get into using what you like and don't think much of it. The only reason I have any sort of knowledge about protein powders outside the ones I buy is because folks have a tendency to send me what they DON'T like, which I usually try once and then end up breaking into samples to give to folks who are struggling or want to try new proteins.

Hmmm, seems to me I was one of those people who sent you crap, um, I mean, stuff I didn't like.
In the summer, I make iced protein coffee. I'll make up a big pitcher of (for all you coffee snobs out there, please look away now. . .this ain't gonna be pretty nor is it gonna get any better so just walk away. . .quickly because I don't want to offend anyone's sensitive coffee palates LOL) instant coffee and stick in the fridge. Then I make my protein coffee just like before and pour it over ice.

When I was first out. . .well, almost a whole year. . .I couldn't do protein drinks at all. Everything would come back up. Then again even plain water would come back up. I literally lived on G2 because it was the only liquid I could tolerate. . . not even soup. Ask Nikki. . .I was a mess. Little by little, was able to tolerate more but even now a lot of protein powders or drinks make me hurl.

Squid, you should know that since last you were active, our "real world, real eating" advocacy campaign has begun to work (and by "we" I mean me, Lora, Shari and a whole troth of others). You won't find much judgmentalism on this board anymore. Every once in a while we get a troll, but most here now subscribe to a "to each his own journey" mentality.
