Need protein powder recommendations-- trying to help someone new

Oh no, Nik, I didn't mean that people would jump me in a mean way, I just know that there are those out there that are truly coffee officianatos (sp?) and I'm, well, not. To me, coffee is just coffee.

And that was my own, twisted, way of being funny.

Not to say that people aren't free to disagree with my sick, twisted sense of humor. You know I don't care if someone disagrees or not, I'm open and it's all good.

I am not much of a coffee drinker, but I know a number of those hard core (and very particular) coffee drinkers, and I thought your post was VERY funny!

No, unfortunately, ViShape is not available in the retail world. The best protein shake I found (granted, I did not try every one out there) 90 calories in two scoops and 12 g protein. I used it pre and more importantly post op. Best of luck to your friend and bless you for being so supportive.
OK, now here's another question for you (please don't make me do my own research. . .that would just be too hard because I want to be spoon fed. LOL  I'm just joshing you!). . .do you know if the ViShape is whey isolate? If you don't know off the top of your head, that's cool. . .I can go back to their site and find out.

I personally hate protein shakes, but since I HAVE to get in my protein I had to find one that worked and I am not one to order crap on line (thought I just did for the first time today)

So I found that Pure Protein which you can get in power and in pre made shakes is tolerable.  You can get the regular flavors, but I did find a place (health food store) that sells banana and strawberry and cookies and cream which are ok.  You can get Pure Protein at Target, Walmart, and Trader Joes...if you have those where you are

Really high in protein, 40 grams per serving.

The Vanilla powder is good (tolerable) when I mix it with mil**** half a banana and frozen blue berries and makes a smoothie I eat with a spoon .  But as you know you can't do fruit until a while out.  But this powder I use in coffee too.  25 grams of protein per scoop.

I HATE EAS!  LOL  I see you love it, and I tried to like it but I just really hate that one.

What proteins have you tried? What protein shake recipes? Usually I find when folks say they hate protein shakes it's because they've pretty much only tried protein powder + liquid...which I agree, can be pretty nasty.

Not trying to sway you at all...but there can be joy in protein shakes. Just sayin.

I could list all the brands for you, but it would take too long.

I have tried Whey, soy, hemp.....flavored, unflavored (that was the worst) With milk, with water, with coffee.  Tried the SF syrups, fruits, ice.

Then one day there was a post about protein water!  WOW!  I thought, protein water, that has to be better.  So I went and got that.  UGH!  It was like drinking super sweet syrup with iron in it.  Gag!

Everything I have tried has just tries to mask the taste of that terrible stuff.  But I will look at the website you gave and book mark it.  I thank you for your help!

If I had 3 wishes one of them would be to love protein!  LOL

then my next one would be to wipe all of it off the planet!  LMAO!

. . . I HATE EAS!  LOL  I see you love it,. . .

I can't say that I love it but it was the only brand that they sold at BJ's Wholesale Club so the budget could tolerate it.  I've found that the chocolate powder is made much more palatable when mixed with coffee. Other than mixing with coffee, I don't do protein drinks at all as the Alien (AKA my stomach) is still pretty touchy, even 3+ years out.

I had the hardest time finding something I could tolerate and like. I'm 4 months out and just tried Syntrax Nectars Chocolate Truffle mixed with milk and ice and I LOVE it!!

I use and like the Syntrax Nectars, but I've also had a sample of the Jay Robb dreamsicle which is really good and sweetened with Stevia.  I'll be switching to Jay Robb just to get away from so much aspartame once I finish of the Nectar I still have.

I have a container of the Jay Robb unflavored, which has no sweeteners.  It's good in milk-based things, but not so mu*****lear liquids.
