Well I was under the assumption that it might have an asprin base. But since reading this post this morning, I have checked and it is not.
I had severe anxiety and panic attacks after WLS. I assumed it was from being taken off abrupty from Trazadone. I see my primary care doctor at the beginning of next month. I will go over it with him.
I am a typical example of a person not knowing my own "health care". I am learning so much and just beginning to take charge. I have always been the person who let the doctor be the doctor, without question. So sorry that it has taken me this long to realize that is not the way it needs to be.

If there is a good reason not to take it, will you let me know? My psychiatrist is not very up on RNY stuff. I have to remind him all the time that I need the non-extended release meds.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I don't think Trazodone contains any aspirin, but I do know that it -- like scores of other drugs -- can increase the action of anticoagulants (and sometimes doctors will want people off of any meds -- even aspirin -- that can increase bleeding before surgery).
People should NEVER abruptly stop taking ANY kind of psych med unless specifically instructed by the prescribing physician to do so because of serious complications/side effects. REALLY bad things, including suicide attempts/completions, can happen when psych meds are discontinued abruptly!
I'm glad you are becoming more proactive about your health care!
