Sleep Study
It's like a hotel room. Bathroom attached. There's a tv in the room that you can watch until you fall asleep. They attach wires all over your head, a couple on your arms and legs. I thought I would never be able to fall asleep with all those wires but I did okay. They wake you up when you have slept long enough for the test and take the wires off. You can shower there or go home and shower. You need to get the goop out of your hair that they use to stick the wires to you.
If you have sleep apnea you do it again with a c-pap or bi-pap so they can set the oxygen level.

Mine was like a nice hotel room. I had a queen sized bed with a fluffy duvet and TV with satellite. I was pretty surprised as like you, I was expecting a sterile room with a single bed. They had a camera that was really hidden to watch me.
I expected to have a horrible night's sleep, but it was not bad. The worse aggravation was the line hooked to my index finger.
I took a whole bunch to do since I expected to go to bed at my normal time, which was 2 hours after arrival, but I never got to anything since we spent that time hooking me up to all of the electrode thingies.
Now the titration sucked royally. As soon as I had the surgery, I packed up the CPAP and hope to never use it again!

Mine was a pretty plan room. No TV in mine.

Mine was done yrs ago and it was a nice comfortable room with bathroom attached and they told me to eat a nice meal before I checked in but no caffene. Then they hooked up all the wires and told me to watch tv until I got sleepy then they woke me up in the am and let me shower and go home. I thought gee what an expensive sleep it was. When I got the bill
My room was small but comfy, definitely not a Hilton, the bathroom was down the hall though. It takes a while for all the wires to be placed and you will look like a science experiment. I don't feel like I got a lot of sleep at all but I must have gotten some because I ended up having sleep apnea. I took a sound machine to try and keep out noise. Wouldn't want to do it again.
