For those that need a vitamin schedule

I take my iron right out of bed. Oddly, thats the ONLY time in my day that doesn't involve coffee or dairy. LOL. I am not a coffee out of bed sort of person.

The only issue I see is that you're not getting enough calcium.  We need 1500-2000 mg a day, and it needs to be in doses of 500 mg each, so we need to take it three or four times a day.

I wonder how I can adjust since I can't take my iron within 2 hours of the calcium?  My doctor actually took me off the calcium until I get my iron numbers up but I added back in twice a day because it worried me.  I will see my PCP for the first time since before my surgery in another week.  I am hoping he will take on my labs because I feel like he knows me and my health so much better.  I like my surgeon but mostly I have to see his nurse practitioner - and she is not my favorite LOL.

You could take a third calcium at lunch or between dinner and bed.  Like if dinner is 6 pm, take calcium at 8 pm and take bedtime meds at 10 pm.

This is my schedule:

AM: Iron, B Complex with Vit C, multi, Insoitol

Midday: 500mg Cal Cit

Late Day: 500mg Cal Cit

Bedtime: 500mg Cal Cit, D3, MagOx, multi, B12 (once weekly)

This works best with my work schedule I find. I use the BA Calcium Chews during the day so I can have a "sweet treat" and calcium citrate tabs at night.

I just want to thank you Kelly. You gave me essentially the 1st schedule above when I had surgery and was overwhelmed by all the new things I needed to accomplish in one day.

It has worked for me and I will find out tomorrow about my blood work. Thanks again!

I know this is probably a dumb question but do you take them right before you eat? I never did because I thought the pills would take up room in my pouch or do they go right through since you are drinking when taking them?

I am very inconsistent with my vitamins and I think if I took them when I ate it might help.

I take them right before I eat.  The smaller ones probably go right through but I have a couple bigger ones so they may not go through right away, I don't know.  They don't make me feel full, that's for sure.  But I'm further out than you are.  If taking your vites makes you feel full and then you can't eat as much, taking them right before you eat wouldn't work for you, for now.
