I have two answers.. If the V8 made you feel good, thats great!
If V8 has LOTS AND LOTS of acidic substances.. it might be better to save it for a little later.  Your pouch is syill so new, it can't be healed yet so I would think it might not like getting citric acid in there right now.
Good luck with things.. if you ask your Doc about the V*8 let us know :)

Please follow your doctor's instructions, you are only eight days out. Your main thing should be to get in your protein, water, and vitamins. You may be doing more harm then good with that V8 with lemon. You don't want to get dehydrated and end up in the ER for IV fluids.

Baby food has little to no nutrition - it is generally full of fillers (carbs).   There are many many soft foods that offer you the protein you need to be eating.

Check out some of the food blogs here for suggestions.

According to my plan, as of 2 days out, I can have low sodium V8. I am only 3 days out and had about a tbs of tomato soup mixed with skim milk and added some unflavored protein. I can also have no sugar added yogurt with no chunks and non fat. Had about 2 tbs of that earlier with some unflavored protein powder. So far, I've been Very fortunate that I've tolerated all my liquids very well.

Low-sodium v8 was also on my first phase list for liquids, baby food was on my list for the next stage of puree. I used both and I personally feel that it is better to be able to get something in than nothing at all. Nothing going in will cause dehydration and then you'll be taking a trip back to the hospital. I know what it's like to struggle in the beginning getting the required liquid and protein in. Take one day at a time and you will get there. This is a whole new learnig experience, we must learn to eat all over again. At 8 days out your new pouch is still swollen and healing, it's going to be sensitive. If you add unflavored protein powder to your baby food and v8 it will give you the protein you need. In the beginning I added it to my soups, my pudding, yogurt, liquids, etc; anything to get in what was needed. Good Luck and take one step at a time, follow your doctors plan and you will get to where you need to be. Never hesitate to call your surgeon if you feel you need the extra support!
