Ate too soon post op ?!

You CANNOT physically damage your pouch by eating as long as you chew everything well. My surgeon has her patients come home from the hospital on soft foods as long as they tolerated the full liquids ok the previous day (I had scrambled egg before I left the hospital).
Being compliant with your surgeon's post-op eating plan is another matter, however. The cheese is one thing... Ta least it is healthy and has protein, but the pretzels are another thing. Empty carbs are the WORST things you can start eating again.

if you eat foods that are solid and hard texture without making them total mush, you are really looking for trouble. I tend to think that if you eat too much and they aren't pureed at the beginning you can do damage to the staple line while it is healing. You don't want any pressure on the staple line. Please stick to pureeds and no empty carbs. At 4 weeks, I was allowed to add some regular foods but not before.
I personally was on liquids for 3 weeks and progressed to solids at my 5 week followup and I followd it. At 5 weeks, we were allowed 5 crackers provided chewed to much with cheese to get protein with the crackers as a meal.
