Tired All the Time

3 weeks, 1 day post op
I am just so tired all the time--every little extra effort I make leaves me short of breath and so so tired. I went to the grocery store Friday and was panting and dragging myself to the car. I had to lie down as soon as I got home. I sleep 11 hours a night! I have to go back to work in a week and I'm so worried I won't be able to handle it. This is crazy. Any ideas?

Just rest as much as you can now.  It will take a while to get all your energy back and then you will have even more before you know it.  It will get a little better every day.
In the meantime drink your water and get your protein in as much as you can and don't push yourself.  You just had major surgery.

You just had major surgery!  Give yourself a break!

Are you getting in all your protein, liquids, and vitamins?

If you're really concerned you could call your doc.  That's what they're there for.  Have you been back for a post-op checkup yet?

I have my first post op check up on Monday. Maybe the doctor will give me some insight. Thanks.

I was in the same place at 3 weeks,  i took a total of 4 weeks off.....but could have had up to 6,  But i felt much better by the end of the 4th week.

Get as much protein and vitamins as possible.

I'm  7 weeks out and still struggling a bit being tired...but it has gotten better. Atnthree weeks I was just a complete zombie for most of the day. Once you get up and moving for work, your body will adjust over time.
