Amen Paul!  I remember when I first started running the encouragement you and many others on the exercise board gave me.  I NEVER thought I could run let alone run for miles at a time!

We need more people on these boards to show that a total lifestyle transformation IS possible and NECESSARY to win the obesity battle long term.  It isn't easy, but it is achievable.

Oh, and we need more people to admit what they really eat!  I'm like you.....I'm an eater!  This girl eats all day, every day!  And I do eat well, but damnit, I EAT!!  I manage to get at least 120 grams of protein, about the same in carbs too.  My body is a well oiled machine and needs fuel!!

Thanks for a great post and "JUST KEEP SWIMMING, SWIMMING, SWIMMING, RUNNING, BIKING".....whatever your heart desires!!

For some deranged reason I have always dreamed of running a full marathon before I die. YOU give me inspiration to do so. Thank you.

Awesome post as usual. You have always been a fantastic inspiration here, and its people like you that keep me pushing forward when I feel like a total failure.

Yeah, I walked 60 miles...but Im scared as hell as a 5k. Im going to do it. When I signed up for the walk I was afraid then and that lasted for 3 days! That was the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my entire life...SO FAR.

Thank you for your inspiration. I will be signing up for that 5k and you'll hear all about it.

Oh fear of he unknown is huge!  My hand was shaking as I hit submit on the IM Augusta registration, and I was a total basket case in the days leading up to both my half Marathons.  I think the unknown is what makes it worth it.

The one KNOWN is that if you never start you will never finish.  If you start odds are you will finish.

You are absolutely correct. When I signed up for the walk, I had NO intentions of quitting. It would have been easy to just not show up, but I wouldnt have been able to face myself.

Silly question...Is the Iron Man all in the same day? one right after another? Wow. Im nervous just thinking about it! LOL

I have always wanted to be a runner. I was one of the slowest ones in school, and always struggled to finish the runs. For some reason, as an adult, I've always wanted to run a 5K or be one of those annoying people in their coordinated jogging outfits running with their dog through the neighborhood. But alas, I was always too out of shape and too big to do any of that. Much less find a cute jogging outfit in my size

I love seeing the stories of the people on this board that have become real exercise enthusiasts. It gives me hope that I can do it too.

I signed up for a fundraiser walk this weekend, and I'm excited to do it. I'm looking at one of those mud dashes this summer just to give myself a goal and some incentive.

Thanks for sharing your struggles and your successes! I love seeing them

You want some exercise people I suggest you look at the Exercise and Fitness Forum that is where I draw my inspiration from.

You will do a 5K if you set your mind to it, even if you have to walk it.
