PB2 - What to do with it. Suggestions needed.

I remember reading on here that people like PB2.  Well I went to the comissary with my mom and found a jar of it on the sale shelf for $2.   I remember people saying it was pricey, so I couldn't pass it up.  I was thinking of adding it to my chocolate protein shakes.  How much would you add a tablespoon? What do you guys do with it?  Any recipes, suggestions?

That sounds like a really good price.  I'm not a big peanut butter person so I've never used it myself.  I know you can put it in protein drinks, though.  I would start with a small amount, mix it in and taste, then add more if needed.  You can always add more but there's no way to take any out if you find out you've added too much.

Other ideas I can think of are adding it to sugar free pudding, yogurt, hot chocolate (or protein hot chocolate).  I think I remember someone not long ago talking about making peanut butter cup protein coffee, with chocolate protein powder and PB2 in their morning coffee.

If you look at bariatricfoodie.com, I bet you'll find lots of other ideas.

LOL - I did the same thing and the jar is sitting in the back of the cupboard.  I don't know what to do with it.

making plain oatmeal with some splenda and PB2 is my absolute favorite way to eat oatmeal (preop, haven't had that postop yet).  Its very creamy and decadent tasting.  The chocolate PB2 is my favorite.

Post op I have had in a few protein shakes, including my favorite peanut butter and jelly protein shake from Eggface's website.

Lastly, mix it like the instructions say with a little water to create a creamy consistancy (or whatever consistancy you like) and drizzle it over some protein ice cream  :)

I use it for a lot of things. A tablespoon in my chocolate shakes, in my plain oatmeal, you can bake with it, etc. I don't really eat it by itself, but it goes great in everything. I really like that it doesn't cause me to crave peanut butter, regular used to be such a trigger food.

I mix mine into a paste with honey and then add water until its the consistancy I want.  Then I put it on 1/2 piece of  toast.  Occasionally I add sliced bananna's to the top. Its my favorite pre or post work out breakfast.  Not something I eat more that 1-2 times a week.  It also helps when I am craving something sweet or comforting.  My mom used to make me PB/Honey/bananna sandwiches when I was little. I do NOT dump on sugar though.

I would mix it with greek yogurt, splenda, and a plop of cool whip. It tasted just like peanut butter pie filling. Okay, maybe not JUST like, but a darn good substitute! I haven't done that in ages--thanks for reminding me!! I would just the add the PB2 to taste. You can also add some chocolate protein powder for a chocolate peanut butter pie deal. I also made it as instructed and smeared a little on some apple sliced thin.

Enjoy!

Denise

P.S. I get it at the commissary too--good price and nice to not have to order it!

I use mine a few different ways.  The Quaker Weight Control banana bread oatmeal is great w/ PB2 in it, sort of a warm PB and banana sandwich in a bowl.  I also mix it with Greek yogurt and Truvia to make a delish apple dip.  It is great in hot cocoa, sort of a hot dreamy mug of Reese's PB cup.

My fav pre-op snack with apple slices with PB on them Now that much straight PB would kill me. So I make Eggface's PB2 yogurt dip (greek yogurt, PB2, SF maple syrup, SF torani syrup) to eat apple slices with. It's a little extra protein with my fruit.
