So I am wondering about those of you who have tattoos...did they change in size/appearance while you were losing weight...and where are they located?

I have 1 tattoo on my upper back..between my shoulders..I'm wondering if it will change as my body changes. I also would like to get opinions of getting another tattoo..in the same general area..before I reach my goal weight. Let me know what you think!

I have a tattoo picked out for when I get close to goal. I am thinking that I should wait because I think the appearance will change AND I hope to get plastic surgery at some point... and it might be in the way.(I want a medium size tattoo on my lower back.)

I think you should wait until you are close to goal....

Good luck!!

I have one on my lower back and it has changed a bit. It's smaller and not in the same place.

I have a big panther on my thigh and when I lost weight the last time my sister would jokingly say that it looked like a cat since it had gotten so small (60 lb loss on weigh****chers). So yes they can definitely change in size.

I would wait until at goal or very close to it to get a new tat.

I have one in the exact same place...its on my spine.  It's pretty much the same as when I got it....hasn't shifted nor does it look warped or anything.  I think that's because of where my weight was/how it was distributed.  Most of my skin stretch is in the front on my stomach and down my sides.

I would prob wait until I hit goal weight just to see how things leveled off as far as the weight distribution and the excess skin before getting mroe ink...but that's just my opinion.

hey!!!  i have a tat on my right shoulder that hasn't changed.  I wanted to get one on my lower back but i'm going to wait until closer to goal weight because i didn't want it to get misshapen or move.  I did get one on my ankle last month because I figured my ankle can only get so much smaller. lol

good luck!!!

I have several tats and none have changed. They were not in areas prone to weight gain/loss or the pull of gravity. There's no need to wait if you chose the right spot. Just make sure you are good on protein so you'll heal well.

Mine are on my back between my shoulders, on my back from my hips to my bra-line and on my foot and ankle. All look the same as they did before.

Hmmm, although... if you were going to get plastics later I might wait on anything that will go on your lower back unless you don't really care if they need to remove part of it if you have a circumferential tuck.
