Your post is a perfect example why it is vitally important we listen to our doctors.

You dont' want any iron in a multi - the iron in multi's is the wrong type and not nearly enough.  You are best off taking Centrum silver - the chewables are best option since they have selenium with out iron and then take a good iron supplement separately with vitamin C

Our clinic does not place patients on iron unless indicated.  We are told to use a multi that contains iron and take it twice per day.  So far at 27 months post op my iron  labs are great.  My vitamin D is low but within range.  I have added D.  That is why I told the original poster it is so important we all listen to our doctors and PCP's who are monitoring our health - otherwise it would really be confusing.

I was told to spread them out but I have always taken them together and labs are fine so far.

That is my question, I was under the understanding that we can not absorb regular vitamins. Can someone clarify if we can. I could save allot of money if that was the case.

We can absorb "regular" vitamins just fine.

Sure we can absorb them.  Why couldn't we?

there is absolutely no difference between bariatric vitamins and regular vitamins - we absorb them both - bariatric vitamins are just more expensive.

There are some vitamins that are recommended that you do get online such as Dry D3by biotech which you can get at vitalady.com, Tender irons - carbonyl iron from vitalady.com - works much better than any other iron,

when you are in the chewable stage, you can get chewable calciums at bariatric advantage and celebrate but after that, you can use citrical no problem
