Surgery and dentures ?
My mom who is 58 needs to have all her teeth removed and set dentures. She is going to start the process got gbs but she is wondering if she should wait to do the dentures after if anything would change after surgery. I said I doubt our mouths change but I would ask here.
Thanks in advance!

actually yes our mouths do change. I wear dentures and mine will probally get to big for me after I lose my weight so I will have to get a new set.
If her surgery is soon and she can wait to get the dentures she might want to wait. What she needs to do is talk to her dentist and/or her surgeon and get their opinion.
Yes, her mouth will shrink as she loses weight. She may want to wait, but if she can't wait she can get it relined as she loses weight, It may not be perfect but will probably be ok. Another thing to check on is if she has any teeth that are infected(abcessed). I know a lot of surgeons want them taken care of before surgery.
