Calorie goal?

 Hello all,
Haven't been around much. Really mostly focousing on my self owned business, it takes most of my time. Anyway I'm doing fairly well. total of 80 pounds lost since August 8th. I have finally started seeing a nutritionist (she was just so booked I didn't get in to see her till last month). Had some issues similar to before surgery. I just don't eat. Not feeling hungry just makes the problem worse.
She has me eating every two hours. I have a little timer on my phone that reminds me. I want to also track my protein. I could just write it down but between my Android phone and Ipod I wanted some sort of app to do it, which lead me back to Sparkpeople.com They will track my protein for me along with any other nutrients I want, and they have an app on my ipod. The main thing is they want me to track calories as well.
No one has given me a very clear answer on calories. Is there a goal of sorts? Do we just try and keep them low? I get stuck being worried about eating too many and then get back to my usual not eating.
Any advice would be appreciated :)

Everyones calorie goal is going to be different and the mix of where the calories come from will also be different.

For example depending on activity my calorie goal is 2100-3100 calories with 140-200  grams of protein.  Now my activity level is quite different than most peoples  but it shows the differences in peoples calories and no just because we had WLS does not mean we have to live a lifestyle of low calorie.

Thanks for the response. I guess I miss the time when I could say how much I weighed and how active and get a round about number. With our restricted intake, somehow it just seems like getting in the same amount of calories as a regualr person doesn't seem quite right.

even with my activity level it doesn't feel quite right to me and oddly enough I actually struggle some days to get enough calories let alone worry about to many.

I'm guessing the amount of calories our bodies need to survive are still the same, I guess I could shot for that goal. I am worried about not getting enough in each day, since I still have the habit of restricting myself.

you can look around your area for Metabolic testing or RMR testing and this will give you an idea of where to start as your RMR is the calories your body needs to function.

Are you still trying to lose weight?  If so, then you need to eat fewer calories than you burn.  Since I don't know how many calories you burn in a typical day, I don't know how many calories you should eat if you want to lose more weight.  You'll have to do that math.

Yeah, I still have about 140 pounds to lose to make goal. My main concern is eating too few calories. I am working on actually getting a regular exercise schedule as thanks to some family issues I never get a chance to actually leave the house, I am cleaning up my  art studio that houses my treadmil. My family life is a mess and truthfully I am either sitting in front of the computer doing art or promoting art and then the rest of the time I'm taking care of kids and the house.
I had a workout buddy but never was able to go and workout. My surgeon even wrtoe a note to my mother saying I had to workout at the gym at least 3 times a week, because she believes just on Sundays when my husband is home is good enough.
So basically, I was wondering if the BMR was accurate for people who have had the surgery, or was it just not dooable with how little we can eat.
to give an idea of my eating habits, it's 2:20 pm and I have had 190 calories in the form of a zone perfect protien bar.

I love www.myfitnesspal.com.  They also have the apps.  It figures your calories for loss, etc.   It is a free site.
