drunking
I don't drink anything with meals. It's one of my hard and fast rules.
I was about 1 1/2 years post op when I had an alcoholic drink. I hated the IMMEDIATE loss of control and haven't had one since.
I was a vodka and ice type of girl before this, but nothing anymore. There's no inbetween sober and tanked now.

Yup, my surgeon had me wait a year before I drank again. And I don't drink now because I've seen too many post-ops go off the rails and become alcoholics.
Also, you sober up so quickly, but it's still in your bloodstream so you don't even get the effects for long, but you're legally drunk-frankly for me It's kinda pointless post-op.
Hopefully, you aren't drinking any fluids with your meals. You should always wait at least a half hour before drinking after any food consumption!
Good Luck,

About 9 or 10 months out, I started having an occasional wine with dinner. My nutritionist is OK with that, since I am sipping the wine, not guzzling like with water or other liquids.
Yes, the 'buzz' doesn't last long, but that's not why I drink wine-- I love the taste, and it is such a nice. small pleasure for me.
