Honey, honey...

So there have been a few threads asking about other sweetener options besides the artificial stuff, and I was curious if people use honey as a sweetener? I don't mean the SF stuff--I mean good, ol' fashioned honey. I really like it with my plain Greek yogurt...

Too high in sugar for me, I would dump if I used more than a little dribble of it.

I liked honey prior to surgery. Now the taste of it brings about a strong desire to hurl.

I still love the taste but more than just a few drops start me heading towards a dumping episode so I have to obstain for the most part.

Bummer! I was hoping this might be an option. I guess I won't know until after surgery.

There is a sugar free honey available at Walmart.  Obviously it is imitation honey.

i have used honey but in small amounts, i use to use it all the time in my baking vefore surgery.......i havent done much baking since surgery....i have made some french toast and used just a tad of honey and all was good....
the sugar free honey, i consider it honey flavored chemicals...
just make sure you try it at home before any where else in case you have problems with it.

I use raw honey in Greek yogurt and sometimes REAL maple syrup. I have an allergy to sucralose and sometimes stevia just doesn't cut it. I don't use a lot and I don't use it multiple times a day but it hasn't been a problem for me.

Thanks! I really can't use sucralose for the long-term so I'm trying to find some other alternatives. I only use honey once in a while now, so I thought it would be a good option. Again, I'll have to wait until after surgery to know for sure.

Good luck with your surgery!
If you're going to use honey, I really suggest raw so you're getting health benefits from it too.
Have you tried stevia? I use NuNaturals brand....its not bitter like a lot of them. Takes a bit more, but totally worth it. There are also water flavors like crystal lite that are stevia sweetened. They come in packets and are nice for a change. I believe they are NOW brand.
