Spaghetti Squash

I'm about 4 .5 weeks out of surgery & down 35 lbs. Very happy! I've been playing around with foods trying to give myself some variety but also get the protein in. I was a pasta lover before the surgery & crave those types of foods above all others. I was curious as to what others thoughts were reguarding replacing pasta noodles with spaghetti squash. I would really like some input from others.

I know a lot of people do that.  I love spaghetti squash.  This way I can eat with my daughter when she has spaghetti and I have to squash.  The sauce really is the best part anyway.
Another trick is to slice zucchini very thin and use it in place of lasagna noodles.

Also you can use ****aki (sp?) noodles.  Some people like them and some don't.  They are very low in calories and make with tofu I think.  Just be sure to rinse them well first.

i LOVE spaghetti squa****'s a way to get a veg serving in while still enjoying pasta. But i don't get the same carb craving with it. one squash lasts me a LONG time lol

I just cook them in the microwave, because i don't usually have time to roast it in the oven.

Thanks for all the responses.  It is definitely something I am going to try.  The zucchini sounds good as well & was thinking about possibly some eggplant Parmesan.  Trying to incorporate some variety as I don't want to burn out on the same ole same ole foods I've been eating.  I did make a pizza tonight with whole grain wheat tortilla with some pizza sauce & mozzarella cheese baked in the oven on 350 till the cheese was good and melted.  It was great, almost like a thin crust pizza.

When I was on my Atkins kick (lost 50 lbs in 3 mths ... then gained 70 back ) I would cut cabbage in long strips that looked like spaghetti, boiled it & would put the meat sauce on top. Not too bad. It's not spaghetti but once you are far enough along you will try about anything lol.
