I watched an episode on demand.  And i was amazed at the amount of weight that they lost in such a short time.  Now i am almost 2 weeks post op and i got the small portion healthy eating part down.  Im doing pretty good, made a few bad choices, but only a few.  im down almost 50 pounds since surgery.  I need to do more excersice though.  That is how they are losing so much weight so fast.  I walk the dog around the block, but I just can't seem to find the inspiration to go to the gym.  What is wrong with me.  I want to be successful.  What inspires others to go to the gym.  And when you get there what do you do? HELP

An awesome trainer helps my motivation and I actually feel great when I leave (on an energy high).  I personal train 1x week and do a small group workout PLUS she plans my workout for the entire week.  My weekly workout includes 2 days weights with the trainer, 1 day cardio (elliptical, treadmill, rowing) or cardio dance), 1 day spinning, and a "relaxing" session of aqua zumba.  You have to enjoy your workout or it will become a chore.

Best of luck!!!!!
Starting weight (12/10) - 346; Surgery day weight (10/11) - 282.4

I'm still pre-op and can't make myself go to the gym to save my life. One of the things I like about the doctor I've chosen is that you get a one year membership at the hospital's cardio gym and a trainer there. It's kind of far to go to daily but I have my head wrapped around the idea that I'll go twice a week and do the rest on the tread mill at home.

I think that is one thing the biggest loser has that many of us do not. They have a professional available to them daily that they get a bond with. Perhaps if you found one? or at least a workout buddy to be responsible to?

Take it easy. You're only 2 weeks post op! 50lbs in two weeks? That's amazing, But you should defo talk to your surgeon before you start a work-out regime, other than walking. I have recovered amazingly from my surgery (no complications and not a lot of pain). I will be 3 weeks post op on Monday, but I'm still healing internally. I am going to see my surgeon for a follow up on Tuesday. I haven't weighed myself since the day of surgery, so I've no idea how much I've lost--will find out at my appointment. Don't think it's anything as amazing as your 50lbs.

You also have to remember, these people on the Biggest Loser did not just have a major opperation. Keep motivated with walking for now, and your 50lb loss!

Good luck!

Are you really only 2 weeks post op?  If so you shouldn't be even eating other than pureed foods.  As for exercising if you are really 2 weeks out all you can do is walk.  No heavy anything.  I am almost 4 weeks post op and my Dr said i can't even vacuum yet.  And forget about food until I am at 4 weeks, not a day earlier.

50 pounds in 2 weeks?  Are you asking what you are doing wrong?  If you keep losing at that rate you are going to get yourself sick.  You can't expect to lose 100 pounds a  month even on the biggest loser, the 400 -500 men that exercise 5 hours per day take 2 months to lose 100 pounds.  the women take alot longer.  It took me 14 months but I know I was smaller but dont put so much pressure on yourself.

Average weightloss for a lightweight me for the first 6 months are 10 per months and then 5 pounds per months for the next 6 months - for people that have alot more than 100 pounds to lose, they should double that - 20 pounds per month for the first 6 months and then 10 pounds for the next 6 months.

You are doing great.  Just make sure you are getting in your fluids, if you dont' get to they gym which you are actual too early to go to the gym - you are still healing - we were told no gym until our 5 week postop appointment but you can walk, stretch - lift your arms and do lots of walking - it is good for your heart and helps you burn calories.  Do it a little bit at a time - 10 minutes - 5 times per day.

then make sure you are drinking your protein drinks - you can make delicious ones - I love mine  - chocolate monkey - it is the best and there are so many others.

Stick to the fluids and when and if ready for pureeds, you can slowly add them.  but dont' push too fast.  You will get it all soon enough

good luck and remember, you are doing great.
