Still Waiting for Things to Get Easier
RNY was 1-13
Between my husband and me, things have been really rough the last week or two. A week ago last night I had to take him to the emergency room because he had severe abdominal pain. Turns out he had another bowel obstruction (second one in a 30 day period) and he had adhesions all over his intestines, which I found out everybody forms if they have had abdominal surgery. He had 4 hernias as well. So he got all that cleaned up and we brought him home today.
In the meantime, Sunday I kept throwing up from 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm, bouts becoming more frequent as the night went on, so I went to the emergency room. They gave me intravenous nausea medication and some pain meds. I came home that night but have had nausea ever since, even though I am taking zofran and another nausea medication. I also have to have another EGD on Friday (I had one just last Friday).
I talked to my surgeon and he said he thinks the nausea will stop once I get this last EGD and can get more food down. I sure hope so. Kinda miserable, kinda down, kinda tired of all this.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Remember the reasons you decided to do this surgery and re focus.
I wish you luck and I sure hope you and the hubby feel better and can move on trouble free from here on out.

I had a lot of problem (still do) with eating, and I found that if I got dehydrated at all, then I couldn't eat anything. I've had to use Gatorade to be able to tolerate much of anything until I get rehydrated. Perhaps this suggestion will help you.
Take care
