I'm supossed to start full liquids monday..but I haven't had any problems with clear liquids or instant breakfast..so i started a little early.  I had about half a cup of cream of potato soup tonight ..It was amazing!!  My husband made sure there wasn't any chuncks and I ate it really slow..without any problems!!  I think it was just what I needed,  Any opinions??  good bad whatever..let me have it

I'm sure it tasted great, but remember, we're supposed to be concentrating on protein first. Also, the best policy is to stick with your surgeon's plan. You never know when going off of it will come back to bite you on the butt.

ahh yes! I remember that feeling all too well! It's almost like heaven's gate opened up and the angels were singing when I had something besides "fluids". I too ate cream of potato soup so I dont really have an opinion about it. I know some might get on to you b/c it's a cream soup and it's a starch when we need to focus on protein.
My only thing I will point out, is that they made these eating plans for a reason. I know you handled it well but you should probably tough it out and really stick to the plan at least until 3 weeks out.

I'm supossed to move onto full liquids Monday..cream soups were on that list.  I basically replaced the chicken broth with potato soup.  Still not a good idea huh??

It was on my list of things to eat.  Have a protein shake or two, that will help get protein in.

the best thing for you to do is check with your dr every full liquid diet seems to be different. I was allowed all cream soup as long as they were pureed and strained.

Cream soups were allowed on my plan and I think potato soup counts as long there are no chunks

I think you're fine.  You are following the plan... just a few days early.  My doctor's plan didn't have me counting protein until later.  Sounds like yours might be similar.

Yes is if creamed soups are on your list go for it - just as long as they are free of the chunks. Have that potato soup if you like it while you can. My favorite was cream of shrimp less the shrimp of course.

I'd have to say that potato soup, although it tastes good doesn't fit requrements. Make it with milk, and add unflavored protein powder=ing ding== WINNER!!
