It varies.  You will keep losing weight until you start eating as many calories as you burn.  That typically happens anywhere from 12 to 18 months post op but you could keep losing for two years or more.

I lost steadily up to a year.

Then again at the 18 month mark for a few months.

Then some more at the 29 month mark.... steadily losing until I was 8 pounds below goal in March of last year.

Then I had surgery, regained 9 pounds immediately, and it's been uphill since then (I did stabilize at my optimum weight for about six months, but now I'm fighting a bit of regain)

~Lady Lithia~ 200 lbs lost!

In my support group there are a few women who stopped losing at 6 months.  I think that's pretty odd.  For the rest of us it was about the 18 month mark.

It's variable per person...  There are too many parts of the equation - compliance, consumption, exercise...

Basically when you start taking in what you are putting out you will stop losing.  Could be the average time of 1 1/2 years, but it could be more or less.

AND, just because you stop losing doesn't mean you are done.  It just means that you need to make adjustments to lose more.  Calories in versus calories out.
