The worst part about getting "fat"

I love shoes!  Last week, I was able to wear my red high-heeled mules for the first time in a long time.  I was so excited.   Then the weather took a turn for the worse.  I hate the post-easter reality check we always seem to get in Minnesota.  Back in sensible shoes.

Aaaagh!
Shoes!
My transfer addiction numero uno!

So I didn't change sizes, but my oh my, I do love me some shoooooooes! And I love heels, and could not wear them pre-WLS. It would have been orthopedic suicide. But now I really can!
I have purchased about a half dozen new (or new to me) pairs of everyday 3"+ heels for work. Totally comfy if I get a solid heel, not the spindly stilletos. And I like being tall! Woot!

In fact, behold my newest Ebay triumph:

Koko.  Totally get the ebay shoes.  For awhile I went crazy buying Cole Haans for next to nothing.  I had to stop becacuse it was killing my budget.

I was like you and couldn't wait to get back into my heels. But, I lost a lot of weight in my feet! So I had to get rid of all my old shoes. They were size 9/10. Now I'm in a 7.5. But, I can wear heels once more!

I thought I would lose some shoe size, but it barely made any difference... I guess I never really carried much weight in my hands and feet.  I'm aware of how odd that sounds, but I mean it, I wore smaller rings than my normal sized friends even at 280, and my shoe size before losing the weight was mostly 9s with a few 8 1/2s, and now it's mostly 8 1/2s with a few 9s.
BUT!

They were all flats, Keens, Clarks, Naturalizer. Nice enough, but nothing to get excited about, and no boots, because the ones available in wide shaft were fugly as hello!

Now I got boots! And I just got an awesome pair of black lace ups with lug soles AND a stacked heel! I am the envy of my teenage daughter, so  I know that either my shoes are great, or I'm just dressing way too young for my age.

(Looks at boots.    Stops caring.)

I have to say that wearing heels is fabulous!!!  I have never been into heels, as I had always been on the heavy side as an adult, and as a teen when I was smaller, they were just never a practical thing.  I am almost 9 months out and almost 100 pounds lighter and all of my shoes, except my nursing shoes have heels!  I have even gone shopping in them, which for a big girl, that would be a thing of torture, but not any longer!  I especially love my over the calf boots with heels, they are extra special, because before I couldn't even think of getting boots zipped past my ankles, but now I have room to spare!
