Why are the soles of my feet beet red???!!!!!

I noticed this weekend that on several occasions, the soles of my feet are bright red.  What does this mean?  They don't hurt at all, and they are not hot.  I haven't noticed if it happens more after I have been on my feet all day, or walking or sitting.  They are not constantly that way, but just every now and then.  Not sure if I should be worried or not.  Never had this happen before.  Has anyone else had this experience.  Should I be concerned??!!  

Hmmmm never heard of that before - I would ask the doc.
