Something Ain't Right
Ok, My husband woke me up to ask me if I had thrown a pill in the toilet. I thought he was crazy so I got up & went & looked & sure nough there was one of my B12 pills lying in the bottom of the toilet. Now I was the last to use the bathroom before I went to sleep. Is it possible that I am passing my whole B12 vitamin before it even has time to process in my pouch? I'm sure some of you seen an earlier post of mine a few days ago where I was saying that every time I take my multivitamin it makes me immediately have to go to the bathroom. Not sure still if its a bug or whatnot, but my pouch is not liking the multi right now. So as of right now I don't know what the heck is going on with me. Ugh!!
We are supposed to take the sublingual B12. They have a cherry flavored tablet at WalMart that you let disolve under your tongue and then let the liquid sit under tongue for 30 seconds to asborb into the bloodstream. Then you swallow. Very easy.
I am due for surgery tomorrow but through accident discovered that normal digestive systems do not dissove Allegra D. I found one in my stool. I took one and put it in a cup of water and we let that sucker sit on the counter for a week. The outside coating came off and maybe the second layer but the majority of the pill was still there and rock hard at the end of the week. And those are so freaking expensive. I was told by my nutritionist that anything I take needs to dissolve in a glass of water if it is going to dissolve in me. And dissolve quickly. Like no more time than an hour. Hope that helps.

not to be gross - but unless it was coated in BM, probably not.
was it a Rx b12? if not then you probably aren't absorbing it. Rx b12 comes with intrinsic factor, although they hurt my tummy so i just do the sublingual

It wasn't coated. It looked like a clean pill. I was told I could use either the sublingual or oral pill form. Guess I'll need to take a trip to the store to get the sublingual then. I definitely don't want to have issues with my B12 levels. Guess I've never noticed this happening if it has before. I don't really take the time to look over my poo before flushing. Lol

The vitamin issue is a big discussion point with my RNY friends. My Dr says to only take Bariatric vitamins. Was your B12 formulated for RNY? I feel I'm paying big bucks for the Bariatric vitamins while may of my friends are taking Chewable Flintstone vitamins. But, it makes sense to me that we need to take Bariatrics so I will continue.
