I am so messed in the head
Im sorry Paul. Wish I had some great insight for you.
When was the last time you took a couple days off? Maybe you need a break?
Ive been pushing myself really hard to do this 5k. Im tired, grouchy, exhausted and an emotional mess and Im not NEARLY working as hard as you do. Im at the point myself though, where Im afraid to take a break cause I dont want to start over, but Im starting to feel if I dont, my body will take a break on its own.
Hope you are feeling better soon. You are such an inspiration to so many of us and dont you forget it!!

My husband has a condition call hemocromatosis. He use to get leg cramps and dizzy spells. It is a condition where your body stores too much iron. Normally your body will store iron and when it has a certain amount stored, it stops storing it. With this condition, you do not stop storing it. I think the test for this is simple. Also, it is hereditary.
Just thought I would let you know.

I have no words of wisdom, but I can provide a shoulder if you need one. Maybe another picture campaign will cheer you up?
There may be some merit in the overtraining idea............I had to take last week off due to traveling to Michigan for DH's mothers funeral...after a week off I was chomping at the bit to get back to working out....and when I finally got to, I fell in love with it all over again....with a renewed energy.
Hang in there, keep trying to figure it out and we're here if you need us.
Hugs.

I had those same symptoms when I was a newbie and working out a lot and doing strenuous sports. I found a gatorade or other power ade type of sports drink did wonders. It rehydrated me, replaced my electrolytes, energized me once I was rehydrated and made me feel 100% again. The amount of training I did off set any sugar in the sports drink I was consuming. I've heard of posties cutting sports drinks half and half with water if it's too much sugar or something else to make it easier to digest. THe cramps sound like potassium deficiency. Have a banana or other potassium rich foods after training, use fake salt (and quite a bit of it) if it contains potassium, take potassium pills if needed, check with your doc to make sure it's ok for you. Many post ops find the potassium in Centrum Silver vitamins seems to do away with the leg cramps. That's the only one I've heard of that works.
When you feel better you'll look better and have a better image of yourself. Find a good therapist who works with post op wls patients, one that specializes in body image issues and that knows our special needs post op. Your doc can probably recommend one.

I drink 3 bottles of PowerAde Zero a day and use Hammer Fizz endurolytes for Brutal workouts.
Potassium and other electrolytes all came back normal.

I just got back from my therapist! I don't really expect her to diagnose or cure any of my issues, but it sure is nice just to have an hour a week to sit and talk about anything that's in my head and get objective feedback on it.
I hope they figure out what's going on, and you feel better soon!

I have no idea what's up with your symptoms but I will say this.
You are sort of in the right place mentally for your surgery stage (that is not helpful, I know). My advice is to sort of manually force yourself to change the story going on in your head. I mean you have a very compelling and true story to tell. You are an athlete. Not a BARIATRIC athlete, but an athlete. And you are experiencing the challenges that athletes experience.
This also applies to your self image. It's probably part body dysmorphia what you are experiencing but I'd be willing to bet the larger part is your competitive nature. You compete with yourself constantly (I know you and I know this). There is nothing wrong with that so long as you can channel it positively. But this point in your surgery is where your brain is sort of struggling to figure out who you are: what happened to fat Paul, who the hell is THIS Paul? Am I still a post op or a normal person? All that fun stuff.

how is your calcium, Paul? Disruptions in your calcium can cause cardiac disruptions, as well as leg cramps, particularly in the night (don't ask me why i know that, i can't for the life of me remember where i learned it, well, probably in nursing school, but that was so long ago)
Hugs. You'll get through this.
