Sore Abdomen Today

Yesterday when I had my dilation I woke up with a lot of pain in my midsection. After I passed the gas they used out of my system, the pain was gone, but today I have a really sore abdomen--like I did a whole bunch of situps (which I assure you I did not).
Do you think the soreness is from all that gas? Makes sense to me, but I didn't experience this in my other dilations.

why would you have gas put in you for a dilation? They go down your throat not through your belly.

I don't think that makes a difference.

When they use a scope and go down your throat they don't put any gas in you, so you shouldn't have gas from the procedure. They only use gas to blow up your abdomen when they cut you and put tools in you, not for a dilation.

I know for a fact they used gas as when I woke up in pain they told me to pass the gas to relieve the pain. Maybe because they put the scope and tool for dilating the opening they also use the gas.

It probably is the gas. My dad has been dealing with alot of gas from dilations also. His are of his duodenum though.

They put a puff of air in-it hurt like heck too.  I had pain after my dilatation and I was told that it was from breaking the scar tissue causing the stricture-kj

I had a dialation today as well.  According to the doc they dialated me to the max but my previous stricture was so bad they couldn't even pass the scope through so it could also be from the dialation itself.

They were able to dilate me to 12, thank goodness. (My surgeon says 14 is about th norm.) The pain is down lower, in my intestinal area. Like if I'd done a bazillion situps.

As I think about it, I remember waking up in a lot of pain and the nurses telling me to pass the gas so the pain would be alleviated. I think I pushed so hard to get all of the gas out that I strained my muscles, as there was a lot of gas to get out.
