Hi!
I saw your posting and noticed you haven't had your surgery yet. Next month I start the 6 month weight loss program so that my ins. hopefully will cover my surgery. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing how you came about choosing your type of surgery,
I haven't decided yet on which one I want, VSG or RNY. My ins. probably will decide that for me because they said I needed a BMI of 50 or more in order to have VSG and have it covered. I take a lot of Advil for lower back pain...do you have any issues with joint pain? If so, are you scared of what you will be able to take after your RNY?
I also, have GERD and was told it would get worse if I had the sleeve. Any thought you can send my way would be greatly appreciated! Oh, I am originally from Elmhurst-do you know where that is?

Sweetishgirl, I too have some of the same questions. As, I am just starting the journey of deciding what to do and just did my blood work and tests. Still need to see the nut. and have my psch eval. I suggest you start your own topic, if you havent already. Or search this in the forum. I have been a lurker since deciding to do all of this a month ago. This is actually my first post, response, or anything. There should be a topic about it. If you aren't finding the answer you were hoping for here. I would ask your surgeon. He/she can help you decide what is best for you. Best of luck!!!
