weight gain in little over 2 weeks!!!! Crazy
okay, i know that there is something wrong. I had been going along fine. Started taking precose couple weeks ago. have to take it with meals. so it had been hit or miss with the medicine for couple of weeks. then last week I really started trying to get all the pills in. I am only taking 2/day.
I have had no hypoglycemia attacks but it makes me crave carbs. Since the 17th of April the scales says I have gained like 6 pounds. So some of this is water weight and i know this but it is scaring the **** out of me.
I have been the same weight pretty much since my 1 year and now suddenly I have gained!!
Tomorrow I am going back to liquids for couple of days. My pouch is not happy with me anyway so this should give it a break
I stopped medicine today and have a appt in June. I cannot handle the weight gain #1.
I ran 4 miles last night and walked 1 mile. ITs not like i am not getting exercise.

Much as I understand your fear I have never understood why folks think going back to liquids has any benefit. Your pouch is not going to be a new pouch again. It's just not. Why not eat well balanced meals and track your caloric intake for a few days? Torture doesn't lead to rehabilitation. It leads to deprivation and, many times, overcompensation.
And frankly you don't deserve to be sad. You deserve to be happy.
My advice would be to call your doctor about the side effects of your meds and then try to replace any starchy or processed carbs with better choices. Quinoa instead of rice, veggies instead of crackers, etc.

Please don't go on a liquid diet!!!! You had this surgery so you could stop yo-yo dieting and get healthy. Having this surgery messes with our metabolism and restricting yourself to liquids will mess with it even more leading to more weight gain eventually. A liquid diet was for a couple of weeks for your pouch to heal, protein shakes are NOT a miracle food, they are processed supplements for times when we are unable to eat enough!
Go back to good RNY eating. Dense proteins first, complex carbs and keep up with your vitamins and exercise. You have a tool and should use it! Most of us bounce up and down a few lbs once we are into maintenance and we don't all rush back onto crazy liquid diets - we buckle down and do what we know we are supposed to do!
Gaining a few and losing a few is going to be a part of your life - I'd be surprised if anyone in maintenance stays the exact same weight day after day for years on end - I know I don't!

precose is for my hypoglycemia episodes. i have regular hypoglycemia episodes, not like the reactive episodes I sometimes i have. Its also causing me to have problems with my liver. my right side has been hurting and they think it is my liver.
Precose changes the way the body processes carbs. here's the thing, until i started this medicine- i wasn't eating that many carbs
