Ulcers and stricture anyone?

So, I just had an endoscopy done on Monday. They used the balloon to stretch the stricture slightly and then found that I also had an ulcer. Now I am taking carafate and prevacid, but I still feel a little sea-sick and uncomfortable. Hopefully this goes away soon. I just needed a place to complain and maybe get some feed back from people who have been through this before.

I developed a stricture 1.5 months after RNY.  I have been dilated 4 times (had one today).  I also felt very uncomfortable and nauseated.  Did they give you any Zofran to take, it has been my life saver.  As far as the ulcer goes, I have no experience with this.  Good luck to you :)

Sorry for the not so great news :(
I understand what you are going through, I was recently hospitalized in febuary  for two bleeding ulcers that resulted in Acute blood loss anemia and required blood transfusion. I am also on Carafate and Protonix. just hang in there! With time and and your medication they should heal.
Best Wishes!

Are the ulcers due to the RNY?  If not, how do you get them?  Curious.

I too may have a ulcer or gastritis according to my surgeon's nurse. I have an appt for scope next week.  I have been on prilosec since surgery and now she has prescribed sucralfate to coat my stomach.  It seems to be helping some with the uncomfortable stomach. I don't have the "regular" symptoms for an ulcer,  but it is better to be safe.
