Update: Home from the hospital
As some of you know I went to see my surgeon on Monday due to pains in my left side, had some blood work done & a CAT scan which all came back normal, showing nothing suspicious. He gave me pain meds to take at home & rest & to come back on Wednesday. Wednesday rolls around & pains have not gotten better, but worse. Surgeon admits me into the hospital & has me having an enema & 4 doses of Miralax to get my bowels moving since I had not had a bowel movement since Sunday evening, even with drinking the liquid contrast for my CAT scan had not made me go. Anyways, after the enema the bowels were in working order again, however did not relieve the pains I was having on my left side. Surgeon then decided to do exploratory surgery to get a closer look at what was going on in my body. They found 3 internal hernia's which they repaired, but the surgeon believes had nothing to do with the pains I was having. The surgeon said they cleaned up alot of adhesion's around my colon area where I had previously had a right hemicolectomy a few years ago & that my colon was dilated. Still having some twinges of pain in my left side, but that could very well be from them repairing the hernia's & taking a look around. Hopefully they have fixed the problem & I'm on my way to getting back to a normal life. I woke up tonight with my throat very swollen, hoping its just from them putting the breathing tube down my throat for surgery. It's very uncomfortable. Just thought I would give you all an update, for those of you who wanted to be kept informed. Thanks for all the kind words, prayers & words of encouragement on my behalf. I feel blessed to have you all in my life. Thanks again!
What a rough couple of days you have had. I hope your feeling better soon!
