embarrassing questions

I cannot speak for YOUR belly button, but mine occasionally has that problem because when I had my panniculectomy, he pulled the skin down, so now my belly button (also an "innie") goes up at an angle and looks like it is about an inch too low because of the way the skin was pulled down... So the core of it doesn't get enough air.  My second plastic surgeon said I could have him remove it (uh...no, but thanks anyway) or I could just get in the habit of using a Q-tip to clean it every morning after I get out of the shower.  That has taken care of the problem.  Easy peasy.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I know what you're talking about.  I've used Baby Cornstarch under there.  It's from Johnson & Johnson like Baby Powder but it contains cornstarch and it seems to absorb some of the moisture, and prevent some of the smell, that builds up.

I've heard of the Monkey Butt powder someone mentioned above and think that would probably work, too, but not sure if it's only available online.

My arms flap.

I know, I know. This isn't a big deal.

But...

I'm 22. I go to a small school where image is really, really important. And everywhere are skinny hipster girls prancing around with their perfect arms. And here I am, with my stomach like candlewax and my arms flap, flap, flapping in the wind.

I would like to think it's only noticeable to me, but I've gotten a few probing questions. One girl saw the stretch marks and loose skin on my arms and said, "I HAVE to ask...do you have some kind of...health condition?" Apropos of nothing. Really? You HAD to ask?

An acquaintance who knew I'd had the surgery asked me out of the blue whether I was going to get the skin removed. While staring at my arms in a sort of horrified fascination.

At least the skin on my stomach and butt I can hide. But my arms...they're out there. Flapping away.

Sigh.
