This surgery is going to make me broke!
500 for the Sleep Apnea machine that shocked me and what do I do with it after I have surgery and don't need it any longer....yes I am crossing my fingers hoping I won't need it. Can I sell it do they do that clean it up and give it to someone else? How does that all work? I won't need it and 500 is a chunk of change with 4 kids.
200 for him to read the memory card....and I have to go back every 2 months that is 1000 a year for him to review my cards.
Sleep Apnea study they called and said it was covered 100% only to get a 75 bill from them. I didn't do anything they said it was 100% I get a call from the surgeons collections office and they said before we sent it off to collections we wanted to give you the opportunity to pay this with us. I said what they said they verified with ins it is covered 100% she said I told them to stop saying that they don't understand insurance and you do have to pay 75.00 I am sorry. Ok so I paid 75 and I had to go back for another study so 150.00 for those 2 studies.
The only good thing out of todays call was the surgery is in processing for approval and the surgery date my Dr put down was June 1st! Crossing my fingers that it goes off without a hitch!
I know that this will all be a priceless journey it is just hard when we have a huge vacation planned for August and 4 kids money is tight. We had the money saved for the surgery and hospital these added things are killing me and making me upset. They didn't tell me this in the pre op financial meeting we had. All it will cost you is 640 and 180 a night....yea right!

You can sell the sleep apnea machine when you don't need it anymore. I see them on craigslist sometimes. I don't know if you can ebay it or not, but you will get some return on it I'm sure.
Sorry this is costing so much out of pocket. Just remember though.. it may make you broke, but you'll be broke and FABULOUS!

I'm sorry these things keep popping up, but if there is a silver lining it's that your surgical team is very thorough. Remember, they aren't running these tests just to be running them and they are not reviewing them closely just to charge you a bunch of money. They want to make sure you make it through surgery and beyond.
So take heart...I pray the tests will be over soon and that your approval comes quickly!
Nik yes it was at the 1st appointment with them back in January. You are right he is being careful but come on just cut me open and let's get this show on the road! I am sure I will be saying why did I ever do this soon after I have been cut open like I am begging for.
I just had to vent my mom is here and if I talked about this with her she would be so upset and want to help. I want to do this on my own I got myself overweight I am going to fix myself with a little help from Dr. Bruce ;-)
Thanks for letting me vent!

-The "why the hell did I do this to myself?" vent
OR
-The "I don't feel like they did anything to me" vent
Then there's the
- "I haven't lost any weight in 1.7 days, help!" vent
I hope you don't have the
-"Why did I eat that?" vent (which is usually followed closely by either the "I get so sick off of everything!" vent or the "I don't get sick off of ANYTHING" vent)
And of course there's the
"How am I supposed to get in all this liquid and still get my protein?" vent
"I can't stand my protein shake!" vent
And the "how bad would it REALLY be if I don't _______" (fill in whatever your surgeon told you to do but that you find difficult so you want to justify not doing it) vent.

Maybe we could just type of some of these standard posts and have them available for people to copy and paste when they feel the need. Then they don't have to spend time composing the same message that has been posted 100 times before.
