Ok, now you are at least getting more concrete results.  Yes, you still have some work to do in PT, which is never pleasant but at least you must feel there is some light at the end of the tunnel.  Jane

I have all sors of neck & back problems & surgery. The pain injection is no big deal, but the burning of the nerves...owwww! In fact I'm going to my pain management dr next week to have it done again. The name of it is radio frequency or rhyzotomy (sp??). I eed to get it done 2 or 3 times a year. My dr sends a rx to the pharmacy for 2 Xanax, so I take one before doing each side. My dr won't do both sides at the same time. I'm required to wait 2 weeks before he will do the other side. Good luck and hope you get some relief soon!!

You have answers! Fantastic. Yes there will be some work, but you survived WLS a few eels of therapy for hopefully lasting results should be more than manageable for you.  Congrats. It must be nice to see a near end in sight.

It's very good to have a light at the end of the tunnel.  I think I have a fairly high pain tolerance and I can cope with things pretty well.  But when you've been in pain for a long time and there is no reason to believe it's ever going to get better, that's hard to deal with.

I'm just echoing everyone else here but I am truly glad you were able to get to the clinic and that you like the doctor.  Really happy that he seems to be on to something and you will hopefully be able to get some relief.

I had a herniated disc years ago (during my waitressing career)  It had been bothering me for quite a while.  I went to the chiropractor and he worked on me for about 6 months and I was still in pain, so I went to a surgeon.  He was going to operate the next week.  One day at home I sneezed and I could not move.  The surgeon told me to get to the hospital.  They operated on me ahead of schedule.  It was miraculous.  No more pain.  No therapy.  About 6 months later, I felt the pain again.  Surgeon sent me to therapy.  They were great. (Kessler) They got me out of pain and showed me how to strengthen the muscles so that the back would be strengthened. I have not had any problems since.  I am not saying you should have surgery.  What I am saying is that if the therapist knows what the problem is, she/he will work on those specific areas and hopefully you will be pain free!!  Good luck.  You can do it!!

Well, now you KNOW what they problem is, you have a plan of action and the determination to follow that plan--in my mind that puts you ahead of the game. Wishing you much success and an end to your pain.

Wow, how annoying that TWO doctors have you an incorrect diagnosis, especially when you yourself could see what the new doctor was showing you!

I am glad you at least have a plan, even though the PT sounds like a PITA.  Hopefully the pain injection will help.

I know.  I"m thinking the orthopedic doc didn't even look at the MRI himself, just read the radiologist's report.  I don't see how he could have looked at it and not got the diagnosis right.  As far as the radiologist, I don't know how he messed it up.

I'm not looking forward to the PT but I'm glad to know I should start feeling better.
