It's time to cut the carbs again

I've been eating too many starchy carbs.  I do this periodically, then realize I need to cut it out, stop eating them for a while, then start up again.  Blah.  I just don't do them well in moderation.  Also, my partner did the grocery shopping this week because my back is bothering me, and he came with both Cheezits AND Triscuits.  Seriously, who needs TWO kinds of crackers?

I don't dump on the starchy stuff, but they don't make me feel good, either.  They feel kind of heavy in my pouch and I feel sluggish and just kind of blah.  Not to mention the blood sugar crashes that sometimes follow.

So, it's time for a week without the starchy carbs.  Anyone want to join me?

I'm right there with ya! I've actually done well this week, but last week I didn't , so I will continue to avoid the carbs for now. I feel better and I've lost another pound doing protien first.

Well, I don't do many starchy carbs but in solidarity I'd like to maintain my abstention of buying peanut products. They are to me as starchy carbs are to you. I over-do them, cut it out, then re-introduce: lather, rinse, repeat.

I have not completely cut peanuts or peanut products out of my life. I just don't buy it for home. The other day when I was hanging with a friend I ate a piece of whole wheat toast with a smear of PB...and it reaffirmed why I should NOT buy it. It was singing to my soul. I wanted more...and more...and MORE!

Yeah...no Jif in my house right now.

I'm in.  Starchy carbs are becoming my vice so I need to break their control over me.  What are our "ground rules" in this challenge?  :)

Can we still have fruits, just no pasta, rice, or *eek* breads?

Last night dinner was a couple of slices off of a loaf of cheese and pepperoni bread.  Not good choices.

You can make your own rules, because you know what your  needs are.  I will have fruit.  I am just cutting the stuff like pasta, rice, bread, crackers,  etc.  The things I tend to eat to many of and that I believe are not good for me.

And if anyone wants to cut something besides carbs, like Nik is staying away from peanut butter, that's find too.  I think we all have somewhat different needs and challenges.

Excellent.  My vice, right now, is carbs in the form of bread, crackers, etc.  Thankfully I can't tolerate rice and pasta so those aren't an issue... but I can throw down some nice crusty bread hot from the oven.

I LOVE bread.  Hot out of the oven is best, of course.  You know those Pillsbury loaves that come in a can in the refrigerated section of the store?  You just pop them open and bake the bread?  I used to make one of those, eat half of it for dinner, and eat the other half later on for a snack.  Yeah, guess that's part of why I ended up needing WLS, huh?
